My search for mojitos was a quest and it has been conquered

It's been a couple week hiatus from blogging, and this is not acceptable. I blame finals, but this is still unacceptable. I sorry.

This weekend I was determined to find a mojito. On Friday, my coworker had this glorious idea of how great a mojito sounded, and this is when the adventure began. Google told us the best places to get a mojito were located in Detroit, and this would have been a legit Friday happy hour expereince except she already had plans with a friend and I had a paper I seriously needed to finish. Operation mojito was temporarily put on hiatus until I finished my paper, but once I did, the intensity was heightened because it went from wanting a mojito because it sounded tasty to a celebratory I finally finished my fucking final high five mojito. The only problem was I was headed out to the black hole, aka Waterford, Michigan where I knew none of the bars would have the ingredients for my celebratory mojito. So sadly, I went Friday without a mojito. Saturday though, I was still bound and determined for this mojito, so with fingers crossed I went to my local watering hole Page's in hopes for a mojito. Not even Page's could satisfy my quench for the mojito - they didn't have the mint leaves. DEVASTATION! I did have a mini beer though, and my juice, and the real version, so that sufficed for the time being.

So what did I do? Mojito-less and upset, I decided if you want something you better do it yourself. So I stopped at Kroger on the way home, bought some mint leaves and limes, and scooted on home and thus the Matsumoto Mojito was born. It's a classic mojito, but it was absolutely fucking amazing. I could drink mojitos all day. I'm sipping on a lovely Matsumoto mojito as I type. I friggin love me some mojitos.

I have come to the realization that having unlimited access to mojitos can be the best and worse thing ever. Having the ingredients means I can make myself a mojito whenever I damn well please, which is good and bad. Good because I can have a mojito when I want it and it is tasty and makes me happy. Bad because immediate access to something as yummy as a mojito could mean multiple drinks, and that can lead into trouble especially since tomorrow is Monday and I have this thing called work I have to be at. That being said, it is 5 o'clock somewhere, so I'm going to finish off this night cap and marvel over how super the mojito is.
